Most battery-powered digital equipment works well on Alkaline flashlight or
penlight batteries. Make sure you get the Alkaline batteries. Perhaps next
time you should ask a sighted friend for a little help. That's no sin. The
other day I was walking with my blind friend Yoshi when I tripped over
something and sprained my ankle. Yoshi helped me to stand up and hobble
over to a shop where we could call a taxi to go to the hospital and get my
ankle checked. It all evens out, you know. Humans do best when they
interact with each other in spite of abilities or the lack of them.

Richard,
Unless you have one of those Battery outlets that might be able to build
you a battery, we will probably need to get that from us. In the mean time,
you can use 4 triple A batteries. Make sure and read the Earthmate Getting
Started document under the receivers in the Documents folder.
