Yes, that's the primary use of the Breeze but it was also made for use in a motorized vehicle. It is quite impressive how we would think that similar systems for similar uses would function the same way and provide useful information. This is a prime example of similar information but one being more useful over the other due to timing. This is the reason that I am a user of the Sendero GPS, Sendero Group knows what they're doing when itcomes to GPS technology as they use it out in the field, performside-by-side comparisons, are always innovating and they are blind/ visually impaired themselves. This includes everyone from the CEO (Mike May), CTO(Charles LaPierre) and Customer Service/Technical Support (Chris/Gil).-----Original Message----- From: gps-talkusers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:gps-talkusers- bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Baracco, Andrew W Sent: Thursday, February 26, 2009 12:38 PM To: gps-talkusers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [gps-talkusers] Re: Automatic announcement of intersections It is my understanding that the Breeze was designed primarily to be used by a pedestrian. Sendero GPS has a more useful way ofannouncing intersections. 1. Sendero GPS 5.3 announces the name of the upcoming street shortly after you go through the previous intersection. This gives you ample time to tell your driver what to do. There is less time of course on short blocks.2. Trekker Breeze does not announce the upcoming intersection until youare almost on top of it when it is too late to do anything about it.This isn't an issue when on foot but it is when traveling in a vehicle.Sendero Group - "The GPS company:" Featuring Sendero GPS on the BrailleNote as well as Sense Nav and the new Mobile Geo for Windows Mobile devices. Also distributing Trekker, Victor Stream, KNFB Mobile Reader, Talks, Mobile Speak, Tiger embossers, Miniguide and ID Mate
