Hello All,
I think that it is really impressive looking at how many accessible GPS
solutions there are now as compared to when the Sendero GPS was the first
and only. Don't believe it, check it out below.
Accessible GPS Solutions of Today:
* Sendero GPS for the BrailleNote mPower and PK
* GW Sense Navigation for the Braille Sense and Voice Sense
* WayFinder Access for Symbian phones
* Trekker Pro for PDA's
* StreetTalk for PAC Mate Classic
Accessible GPS Solutions of Tomorrow:
* Mobile Geo for Windows Mobile Devices
* GW Sense Navigation for Braille Sense Plus
* Trekker Breeze
* StreetTalk for PAC Mate Omni
That is impressive, there are five current Accessible GPS Solutions and four
more in the works.
The nice thing with this is that it provides choice. One can have a GPS on
a cell phone, BrailleNote, PAC Mate, Voice/Braille Sense or stand-alone PDA.
There are trade-offs with each, but potential GPS users have the choice.

Note: There are other products like Loadstone, which is an excellent
product but I only included those accessible GPS solutions that have maps.
I look forward to when the items "of tomorrow" move into the list "of today"
and for more solutions to be placed into the "of tomorrow."
I think that it would be interesting if another review/comparison was done
similar to the one found in the Braille Monitor done by the National
Federation of the Blind. This review is a bit outdated and was comparing the
Sendero GPS, Trekker and StreetTalk and was done pre-3.5, which would make
it over two years ago.
Thanks,
Kevin
