- TAXPAYERS FOR COMMON SENSE RELEASES FY07 DEFENSE SPENDING EARMARK DATABASE

The excel spreadsheet is compiled of the data that was in the Defense spending 
bill and the accompanying conference report. Phase two will provide amplifying 
information about the earmarks including additional project information, 
legislative patrons, lobbying shops and other information. TCS hopes to

- Sunshine on Delays in FOIA

The Senate Judiciary Committee will have a hearing on March 14 to discuss a new 
bill from Sens. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and John Cornyn, R-Texas, that would give 
more teeth to the 41-year-old law. The hearing witnesses include: Tom Curley, 
president and CEO of the Associated Press who is representing the Sunshine in 
Government Initiative; Meredith Fuchs, general counsel at the National Security 
Archive; Sabina Haskell, editor of the BrattleboroReformer; and Katherine Cary, 
general counsel to the Texas Attorney General. more
