Geelong Community Telco 

Geelong Community Telco, formerly Geelong Community Enterprise, has been
using the money created through buyer support to create grants for young
people in Geelong. 'Youth Foundations Victoria' a collaboration between the
Victorian Government, the Office of Youth and the Bendigo Bank is a new
initiative that empowers young people to make a positive difference to their
community.

 

2008 Geelong Shoot Out

You may have noticed an unusual number of people wandering the streets of
Geelong last month. Some dressed in costumes, others hauling around video
cameras and tri-pods. Ranging from budding enthusiasts to the film obsessed,
these film makers were in town to take part in the annual Geelong Shoot Out
24 hour Film Making Festival.  

 

Right now, you can watch two of the Top Ten films from this year's festival
on GOTV via the 'Shoot Out Geelong 2008 ' tab. We are eagerly awaiting
delivery of the remaining 8 and will uploaded these as soon as we receive
them so keep an eye on GOTV!

Gala Day Parade  

Thousands braved the wintery conditions to line Malop Street for the city's
annual Gala Parade. Hundreds of families dressed in warm jackets, beanies
and gloves filed into town to watch some of their favorite characters parade
through the city streets. 

 

Geelong Gun Club to Move On

The controversy surrounding the Geelong Clay Target Club has come to an end.
With the Department of Sustainability and Environment releasing a statement
saying an agreement has been reached. 

 

True Crime at the Geelong Gallery

Geelong Gallery has tackled Australia's murderous past head on in an
exhibition entitled 'True Crime, Murder & Misdemeanor in Australian Art'
current on display until the 1st February 2009.
