Question from a new user of GoodFeel:

My music theory teacher sent me a choral score he wants me to emboss. I have
imported it into Lime and have tried embossing it with GoodFeel. In general,
it looks fine, but the problem is that it brailled each part (soprano, alto,
tenor, and bass) on 4 separate pages. So they each have their own page. How
do I fix it to where they are all lined up vertically on 1 page?

Answer:

When you launch GoodFeel from Lime's File menu, do you always see an
"intermediate" dialog?  If not, see directions below for setting GoodFeel to
always display that dialog when it is launched from Lime.

The Intermediate dialog is where you want to be in order to:

press CONTROL+TAB to move to the "Format" tab.

Now press the tab key until you reach the checkbox that says "Braille all
parts together"

And press space bar to check it.

Now press ALT+P or tab to the Process button to transcribe with GoodFeel.

If the piece has lyrics, you may want to have both versions to study.
GoodFeel can create a score of a four-line braille parallel showing all 4
parts for each measure of music.  But it will not include lyrics in the
score format.  You will only see lyrics in each individual voice part.

Setting Prompt before Brailling option to "Always"

If you never get to see GoodFeel's intermediate dialog because GoodFeel goes
directly to its "Braille Destination" screen, you will need to run GoodFeel.

Press ALT+O to open GoodFeel's Options menu.

Choose Automation Options.

Choose the "Always" radio button under the "Prompt before Brailling" option.

BTW, while you have that dialog open, change the value for "percent of
lyrics..." to 10 percent.  That will prevent an unrelated bug from biting
you some time.

Close GoodFeel.  Now, when you launch GoodFeel from Lime, it will always
display its Intermediate dialog so that you will always have the option to
braille parts separately or together using the checkbox on the Format tab.

Bill
