I think about it almost every day, but I haven't made time to hack on it
in a few months. :(  Interest seems/seemed to die down and I got busy.

You bet!
I've been hacking around a bit on some experimental private code trying to take into account many of the ideas from the GMPI requirements (thinking that when it's finally there, it would be easy to change over to GMPI ;-))
