I didn't mean you :)  I meant the programmer population at large.  Lots of
people understand the idea that you have in and out buffers.  This would be
new to them.

It enables more plugins to optimize themselves and it enables things like
format converters to be GMPI plugins and not host-specific tricks.  At this
point I think I have expressed the position well enough.  There are a few
people against it, a few who are fence sitting, and a lot who haven't chimed
in.
