Hello. I'm new on this list and would like to know are there draft
spec documents available for me who would like to catch up the
current status of the development?
I have the archives of this list and already started reading them in
time-order, but catching up the conclusions from them may be
impossible.
-*-
For research purposes I would like to have specs and SDKs
of the following systems:
VST,
AU,
PTAF (the url given here earlier do not work anymore),
DXi (of Cakewalk?),
ReWire specs (is ReWire relevant to us?),
Creamware/SCOPE,
Mackie UAD/Soundscape/Control,
Digidesign,
MIDI.
Anything else which is relevant to this project? If you have them,
please upload to "ftp://ftp.funet.fi/incoming/audio/". Saves our
time if we collect the resources to one project directory. This
project directory would be hidden, private, and accessible only to
people who are willing to check out ideas from the resources to our
project.
I think it is a good idea to have extensive resources available
for this project. They may not help but do not hurt either.
-*-
I would like to ask if people here are happy for the progress of
this project? Is there any progress? What has been achieved in
seven months? Has anyone seen GMPI docs or are they available
only for MMA members?
Several mails indicate that GMPI development is unhealty: MMA people
suck our ideas but don't give us anything. There is no normal
feedback in the development. This is how I interpret the unhappy
mails people have posted about this project.
If that is true, then we non-member developers should take
the leadership and work on our own standard. Otherwise, our
development ideas may not end up to the standard (as has been
happened already, see the mail archives), and we end up waiting
what they give us.
Best regards,
Juhana
