I'm having a real problem with this level of complexity.  As David said, if
you need to see the future, you either induce latency, or you invent a time
machine.

Now, there was once a discussion of plugins that could somehow indicate that
they wanted their events to be delivered early, if possible.  Of course,
that doesn't work with real-time data, but with purely sequenced data it
might.  I think it is a pretty fugly hack, though.

I think that by getting all these brains together it WILL be far better than
what is there.  This seems to be a pretty edge case that requires a lot of
special attention.  

Can anyone else help out here?
