yes - such as?

The usual parameter interface things, like get the min, max, default value, get properties, functions to do conversions between text and value, between normalized value and value, etc. The other usual functions are get value and set value. The question is should "set value" be implemented using a control event on a stream? How does this affect the otherwise very simple interface?

I'm using this as a toy problem for other related host interface issues.
