That sounds like a better approach - see what developers are already using,
the pros and cons, and try to create something which has as many of the pros
as possible, with the least number of cons.
Other suggestions like data formats could be made, but that can be discussed
later.
We have a lot of good minds here, but sometimes people have conflicting
ideas.
