Looks good to me, but how about changing the wording to "(though the
in-graph data may be implemented in any form: as MIDI, non-MIDI, or any
combination)"?

I think this is wandering away from the try #2 language, which was better. That did two things: it said there must be only one delivery mechanism, and it said that a non-MIDI coding is not unacceptable. That was what the group decided. Try #3 is, so far, wandering away from both forks in ways I don't understand, for reasons I can't make out.
