Yeah, Chris G's proposal already allows for excellent conversion MIDI to
GMPI, hopefully that is enough.

Seriously, see my immediately previous comment, if you have a bunch of MIDI-oriented plugs in the graph, with Y's and thru's and simple in/out patches, then forcing all the plugs to reconstitute the MIDI at each stage is nothing more than totally unproductive work, i.e. inefficient, i.e. wasteful.
