This is *much* more important than `undo' or `Total Rewind' whatever
the hell that is (no one has defined it here).  

Why is this requirement always ignored by NMiG proponents?

      + MIDI-only plugins would not be able to respond to parameters
      coming from non-MIDI sources (like GUI, OSC, etc.).  

I suggested a technical improvement to Chris's design proposal that
solves this problem, but it was ignored by the "gotta have MIDI" camp.
