well, it would be more work without MIDI in the graph, I admit.  But I
don't think it is SIGNIFICANTLY more work, given the other work that is
essentially required.  Maybe I'm wrong.

I agree.  If it were *much* harder, the choice would be more obvious.  :)
But I think we're more or less happy with a compromise concept for now
(reqs reqs reqs!) :)
