No, I agree with you.
VST specifies normalised ranges, that's OK for 90% of parameters, but for
the remaining 10% it's a real pain.
I'm thinking of things like a delay/echo, it's natural to specify delay in
milliseconds. It's not natural to specify it as normalised (0.0 -> 1.0),
that would be very non-intuitive for the end-user. In fact it's a real pain
where you don't want any upper limit (within reason).
I would hope *most* parameters are normalised. As you say, it makes
interconnections much easier, But the decision should be up to the plugin
writter based on what is most logical.
