In a Modular synth, the user can add/remove filters (hence parameters).
Again though, this isn't something you do mid-song.  The user can tolerate a
re-instantiation.


sorry if sometimes i do not follow the discussion and post already known
facts...

- song?! what about live-playing/mangling/composing/etc... you could
be building up/adding modules while playing... re-instantiation isn't
acceptable in these cases

AU already supports dynamic parameter info+list, the host only has
to register that it wants to be notified of changes to some
property (the parameter list of the infos (min,max,name) of a parameter
amongst others)
