I don't recall a conclusive decision, which is why it was listed as a TBD.
Perhaps the phrasing on the TBD was bad. How can we suggest that the
spec/implementation needs do this without fully solving it now?
Solving it now fully is not our job (not that it stops us normally). Worse,
it is a tar-pit. You just can't move quickly here.
How would you like to see the requirement for 'hints'? I'm totally open to
it. In fact, I think hints are a really nice feature. I'm just not sure
they are worth the complexity. If everyone thinks they are, I'm all for it.
I've posted a few ways I think it might work, but haven't gotten any
response to it.

I understand your frustration, Chris. I hope you can see mine. I, too,
have stuff going on. If you've ever had to deal with a car getting stolen,
you'll appreciate how much of your immediate attention it needs. :)
GMPI needs an hour or two of attention per week. When people let it
languish, I don't know whether they have dropped off (Vincent?) or are on
vacation, or are just busy. If you can find 15 minutes to say "I have
something to say on this, but I can't get to it until next week", then we'll
at least know that your radio isn't off. Likewise, if you are going to be
away from email more than a few days, I'd personally appreciate a "I'm out
until xx/yy" email.
GLad to have you back, Chris.
