[gmpi] Re: 3.10 wrap up (try #1)

Personally I disagree strongly that we're not smart enough to find a non-complicated way to handle encoding hints, and that GMPI will be a practically viable format for non-trivial encodings if we don't support hints. The outcome of the previous long long discussion on this was, IIRC, that we .did. need hints.

Also, for the milliionth time, the absence of disagreement is not evidence of agreement, some of us have had life events and major conferences to deal with recently.
