Hmmm, I wouldn't go saying this so confidently simply because you're not
familiar with who or what requires or desires this.  We *will* be pissing
off and creating problems with some people if we don't do this.  We *can*
learn from the oodles of APIs that have preceeded us, and at least the
current/modern ones do support this req 39 stuff.  I know that when AU
appeared and didn't support this stuff, MOTU in particular had big
problems with this and worked with Apple a lot to get things in shape.
