I think the Req 39 TBD is unneccesary.
The times when you actually need to use matric encodings seem to be
special cases (such as LRCS -> Prologic encoding), and plugins working on
the output of such plugins are unlikly to know wether thier processing
will affect the matrix or not - some are borderline, eg. its possible to
apply small ammounts of reverb to prologic streams without breaking the
encoding.
So, in summary, I think humans know better than machines in this case and
prologic streams (for eg.) should just be treated as stereo by the hosts.
Also I dont see any mention of a way to find it you in/outs are connected
- I /think/ this was discussed and thought to be a good thing.
Otherwise I'm happy.
