[glug-t] touchpad on hp pavillion not working

Hi
        above problem is causing me to use an external infrared mouse for 
my hp pavillion laptop. I am using mandrake 10. it was working in fedora 
distribution.
        Google and changes in XF86config-4 did not really help.
        
        any suggestions..? kerenl upgrade reqd ?
