Dear all,
I have a problem.
I have recently installed Linux[Red Hat 8.0 Distro].
[well that's not the problem however!]
And when I wanted to change the hostname from
the usual localhost@locadomain I tried using the
"hostname" command, but it could not save the
hostname settings after the next reboot.
So I tried to use the /etc/hosts
or some file manually changing the name of the hostname
to "hope" and the domain name to "life".But again when
I used the web browser to open the site http://hope.life
it said cannot find hostname.httpd was up and running.
So I had no way but to change the settings
in /etc/hosts back to localhost and localdomain
to get the apache server working.
Can you please help??
Regards Muthu.
