hey,
This is just to keep you updated about what is happening in the glug-t.
The workshop we were plannin to conduct is under way. We had planned it as a
five day workshop, starting yesterday.
The course details are will be put up on the site. We got 40 members, the
fee is Rs.250. It is a little high this time because we are giving them a copy
of Free Software Free Society book, a live GNU/Linux CD, and cheat sheets or
quick references.
The first day saw shaggy takin shell and satish start a bit of emacs. And
in order to change the view that GNU/Linux is a command line operating system
we had a presentation by bala. It was a preview of window managers, Desktop
environments and how the X window system is built. It will also be updated on
the site soon.
Today we have gcc and gdb by mohan and the dive into emacs session by
satish.
An interesting thing we had yesterday was had a test at the end of the
session . Based on the performance we are plannin to segregate them and give
them more attention.
cheers
manik
