[glug-t] Tranlsation for Hackers

The other day, when I was talking to Muthu about the tranlsation of RMS' 
essays, he said that most of us were programmers and translation would be 
better done by others. 

That may be true. We may not be the best people at translation. May be we 
translate at 20% rate of a well versed translator. So what? We will just get 
the job done late. None of the 'well versed translator' is interested today. So 
if we don't do it, the job will not be done at all.

So, in one hand we will have the translation done, but at 5 times as much late. 
In the other hand we will not have any translation done at all.

Yet another thing is, you can't go around asking somebody else to do the job. 
If we want more people to understand the free software philosophy, WE will have 
to do something about it. One consequence of doing the translation would be 
that many people will start getting interested in it, and will want to 
contribute.

Now, I am not asking you to drop hacking programs, and start writing 
translations. There are times when you do not have access to computer, use that 
time for writing translations. For example, most of the translation I wrote for 
the GNU Manifesto was done during a train journey from Chennai to Bangalore. 
You could use translating as a filler, to squeeze out the last minute out of 
your life for GNU.
