Hey they do not contradict. Yes, Linux is just the kernel. And calling the OS
Linux is a misnomer. And just because everybody calls the OS Linux it doesn't
make it correct!!

Here I compared the philosophies associated with the two softwares. My mistake.
I should have said "Linux Philosophy" and "GNU Philosophy".

Yes. Yes. Yes.
(Run $(yes) command here!)
Look at those people who call them Linux this and Linux that, and do everthing
using proprietary software, and proprietary distributions. Look at "United
Linux" it has per seat licensing, look at "Linux for You" they use proprietary
software to run their web server, look at those distributions that bundle
together proprietary software. And look at Linus Torvalds, he is(?) using
BitKeeper a proprietary software because it is better that CVS.

If don't give importance to GNU you will back to ages of proprietary software.

We will.

That's great.

Take this for an example. Twenty years ago the masses constituted of
proprietary software users. Today the Free software movement changed the
scenario. If going by the masses was our way, this could not have been
acheived.
