[glug-t] Software Freedom Day: Mission & Method

Software Freedom Day: Mission & Method(http://www.softwarefreedomday.org/)
The first annual Software Freedom Day (SFD) will be held on August 28,
2004.*

SFD exists to make the public aware of Free/Open Source Software; in
short, we engage in tasteful and tactful "Software Evangelism".

SFD does this by the following:

 1. inviting volunteers around the world to give away informational flyers
and Free/Open Source software CDs in public places on SFD
 2. asking for sponsors to donate money and material goods and services to
    our effort
 3. inviting Free/Open Source software advocacy groups around the world to
    organize local SFD teams
 4. inviting individuals around the world to participate in SFD teams by
setting up booths, tables, and displays in public places on SFD

* If a day other than Saturday would be best for a given locality, that's
fine. As much as possible, SFD should occur on the same day world-wide to
maximize our impact, publicity, etc.
