Hello friends,
Id just like to evaluate the effect of GLUG-T's policies
during the last few months as we envision'ed during Nov 2004,
in 'Roadmap for GLUG-T'
Ref : http://www.freelists.org/archives/glug_t/11-2004/msg00006.html
1: We said we will make a 'Hacker Workshop'.
We did 'Hacker Crackdown - 21,22,23 January,2005'.
2: Re-Vamp meetings.
Its sad but true that, meetings were conducted only on
-[November: absent],
- December: we met on ?
-[January:Hacker Crackdown]
-February: something on half-baked MONO, slides only. no demo.
-[March : absent]
-[April : absent-mostly, as April isnt over yet.]
3: Newbie workshop
-Never happened
4: Setting up GLUG's
-Whispering about our own survival, where then will we
setup other GLUGs?
5: Update the website.
-moderate progress. something done.
So I think this might be one of the last posts from NIT-T mail account,
who are slowly turning hostile, like the people and the place [www.nitt.edu]
itself.
I want to take this opportunity to thank a few people who ensured that
whatever happened, happened. For the rest, maybe Im to blame.
For pushing through 'Hacker Crackdown',
- Commander in Chief [CIC] Mr Hemant Kumar,
- GNU Guru Mr Saravana Manickam
- Organisation/Finance Mr Sooraj
- Website Mr Saravana Manickam
- Acco', Food, Travel Mr Bala
- All speakers at [NIT-T,Novell,Infosys] Mr. Ramasamy
Well Ive had a great time at GLUG-T, and thank all of you for that.
Its very personal, and hard to understand this feeling of being a GNU fan,
myself, and I cannot justify and preach as well, like some others or advocate
freesoftware, in a place like [www.nitt.edu] where only utility matters,
not ethics. Somehow this divorce cannot hurt me, even it hurts GLUG-T.
Well thanks to all of you who will remain and run GLUG-T, while people
like me [Manik, Hemant] will leave seeking greener pastures, after our
course is over.
The choice before GLUG-T members who will continue to run it is stark.
The choice is yours, to be or not to be, running GLUG-T.
The rest is silence.
Cheers
Muthu.
