[glug-t] Re: Please help Jitendra

dear..jitendra...
GNU/Linux is a full fledged(and free)operating system.All it's components are
written by the volunteer programmers around the world..several distribution of
GNU/Linux exist ..like
1.Redhat
2.Debian
3.Mandrake
4.Turbo linux

Now you may ask what u mean by a distribution..and as Fredrik Noranha has
summed up in a article.."Distribution's of GNU/Linux are like bottled water".
All the ingredients are free ,all these companies do is to add some value..So
the differances are very subtle.(though as a beginner it may appear to you ,as
big deal). The differances between different distribution's are:
1.Ease of installation
2.Font appearance
3.Not all the packages are comman ..

Now i assume that either you have access to system that has GNU/Linux
installed or u have a PC where u want to install GNU/Linux.in the second case
i will suggest get ..Redhat 9.0(very user friendly) distro and install it on
your system..Of course you will need some assistance in installation if u r a
noob. Then we are more than eager to hear about ur installation blues..

Check on net and download some good books for GNU/Linux..check out following
sites:

  http://tdlp.org
http://linuxhelp.ca(on the technical forum, some sites are mentioned from
where you can download books).
