[glug-t] Minutes of meeting.

minutes of the meeting.

The meeting started rather late. Actually the point is people were made
to wait, for Hemant,LCD Projector, Muthu, and Manik's laptop to arrive
on time, actually off it. Well beginning it was 45minutes after 5pm, we
started [the LCD proj & Computer first] the session with Qt programming by
Hemant.

Hemant talked with the aid of presentations, and sample code. He was cool trying
to explain C++ & GUI programming with Qt. He talked of object models, signals
slots, and how to write the canonical 'hello world' program. Hemant explained
writing custom widgets, signals and slots. He finished the presentation [after
an hour] with the QDict application he had written;we walked the code, Hemants
mouse guided us.The application navigates a dictionary with hyper-text stuff.
Cool one.He will give you the sildes/code/both on request.

Muthu's presentation was nonexistent. He used some old broken [read: version
incompatible] kernel modules to introduce kernel module programming. He talked
about interrupts, user&kernel space, and how
writing kernel code as modules was necessary. He wound up with small
a code walk through the module einstein, which was contrived to show
a "fortune" kind of kernel module. You can get the broken code[read: works with
2.4 & < version of Linux kernel] at
http://cybernetics.freewebspace.com/einstein/

Cheers
Muthu.
