[glug-t] Minutes of core group meeting.

Meeting minutes for the meeting held on last friday in rams room.
 
        This meeting was a core group one. A lot of faces were missed. The ones 
present were Rams, Mohan, Ashish, Satish, Hemant and ofcourse myself. We had to 
discuss some key issues like OC, Certificates, Workshop for newbies, a workshop 
for hackers, writing tuts and about starting a new project. 
 
It (all) started at 6pm. 

<u> OC </u>
       As vijay wasnt present the topic wasnt discussed. And we felt we need 
all the core members for deciding the OC. 

<u> Certificates </u> 
       Ya, there was a discussion about certificates. We discussed why we need 
certificates and It was 2:4 ie four people were reluctant, but every one agreed 
on one point that it was a wrong kind of incentive, and we got better things to 
do. 

<u> Workshop </u>
       We didnt decide much. All we decided was we will have a workshop in the
beginning of next semester. It was felt an in depth discussion was too early. 

<u> Tutorials </u>
       Ashish prepared a list of probable softwares and applications that need 
tutorials for newbies. His point was if a guy can prepare a nice tutorials, he 
will a complete reference himself. So, we split up the stuff and the deadline 
is june 21st.

       Ashish had an idea to start a project involving programmers from cse. 
The project isnt decided yet. We are still in search of ideas. One was to write 
a front end for LaTeX. 
      As we all had exams, the meeting was cut short.
