[glug-t] Ldap how to ?

Hi,
        I want to change my existing nis-nfs setup and come out with ldap 
server network and partition mounting on authentication .

        Users will try logging in to the system and system will check for 
authntication on ldap server , if credentials match then the users 
partition of home dir from remote machine mounts on local system and he 
logs in.
        Is there any such possibility in ldap and if yes can some one help 
me with links or ideas. Please do cc me replies.
