[glug-t] Re: Hello Everybody

I read the news article.
What makes me happy is that, the FSF is enforcing the GPL!!

The problem with the article on Forbes is that the author thinks that enforcing
the GPL is kind of evil act.

Little does he know that the GPL was created after witnessing many free
software licenses(like MIT X Window license, BSD license) successfully fail!
The GPL was designed to preserve freedom. It helped to prevent the free
software movement from being eaten up parasitically by proprietary software
companies.

With the BSD license, anybody can take the program modify it and distribute in
under a proprietary license. This way the free software programmer will be
indirectly be contributing to a proprietary software!

With the GPL license, anybody making a modified version and distributing it is
required to distribute it under the GPL. Now if the GPL is not enforced, it
makes the GPL no better than the BSD license! It defies the fundamental reason
the GPL was created.
