Hai penquins,
I found it is very difficult to configure my HP LaserJet1000
(USB-Black&White) Printer in MDK9.
I could see, Mandrake has found the printer and displayed it in the
CUPS. Also, It has given me a message that, this we have to send the
format to this win-printer after it is turned on. For that the the file
sihp1000.img, which is available in the windows installation cdrom, has
to be passed to the printer using lpr/cat command. But when I tried,
there is no response from the printer. And when I tried test print,
theres no change in the status.
whether any of you had configured this printer successfully? will you
please share it with me?
By the way, I have raised a question about my CD-ROM problem in our last
meeting at sastra.
The problem is that : The CD-ROM folder is locked and I couldnot able to
open it. The solution may be the format of the CD-ROM. If its in JOLIET
(default format of most win CD-burning s/w), it may create some problems
in other platforms. If we change to ISO then we can over come this
problem. (ofcourse, ISO supports only 8.3 filenames)
Have a nice day!
Anbudan,
Pandian,
Pudukkottai.
