Got a small idea?
Why not we join together and learn free software development. Each of us could
learn a specific part of GNU and then teach the rest.
A 14 day intensive GNU Hacker Training. 3 hours a day.
Topics could be something like this
* CLI - getopt/readline
* GUI - GTK+/Gnome
* Component Model - Bonobo
* HTML/XML
* Scripting - Introduction to Python & Lisp, Programming with libglade, GIMP
scripts, Apache, OOffice scripting
* Documentation - DocBook
* Kernel - Hurd(Don't panic!)
* Distribution/Porting - GNU Autotools
We could include Emacs if there are many who are not familiar with it.
My plan is to prepare in the holidays and have the sessions at the beginning of
the next semester.
I am pretty confident that we could get a LCD projector for the whole 14 days.
If all goes well, we could get hackers from Banglore or Chennai to talk on some
topics....
Send in your suggestions. After getting sufficient number of interested people
we can start work.
Vijay
