The Department of Mechanical Engineering, College of Engineering, Farmagudi
Ponda and ILUG-Goa are conducting a one day Gnu / Linux workshop FREE for the
teaching staff of the Colleges from Ponda on Saturday, 30 th of August, 2003
in the Mechanical Engg. Software Lab of the Mechanical Engg Dept of the
College from 9 AM to 3 PM.

The workshop with maximum twenty participants will provide hands on training
for the participants on workstations and will cover the basics of Gnu / Linux
Operating System, basic system administration, RedHat Linux 8.0 installation
demo, simple and popular applications like Abiword word processor, Magic
point presentation package, Gnumeric spreadsheet, GIMP image manipulation
software, web browsing and more..
