[glug-t] Fear

(This mail is to the volunteers who have offered to help maintain this group.)
Hi guys,
one of the 101 fears that haunt me, is the survival of this group. You say
everything is going fine, why bother? Not really. Last meeting, I got the topics
ready, confirmed the meeting place, prepared the letters and posters and got the
covers and stamps, printed the mail list and finally asked the 'volunteers' to
just have them posted(I didnot post them myself, because I had to attend a
wedding function in my home town). It was not posted! I also updated the
webpage, announced on the mailing list, and other notice boards, and finally
asked the 'volunteers' to just inform the newspaper. It was not done!

Now, if you can not really do the job just say "NO". I will do it myself.
By not doing your job you are giving me mental stress. I also have to go around
driving each one of you. This is torturous.

The idea of having volunteers to get jobs done is to reduce the burden of
maintaining this user group. In fact, for the last meeting I was doing all this
work for the group, amidst writing a technical paper that had already crossed
the deadline, my own department project, and attending a wedding function!

If nobody is interested in working, we can rollback, and restrict ourselves to
RECT, where I can do all the work myself. Really competent people will establish
a GNU/Linux user group in Trichy. (I have heard of other lugs within other
colleges, may be they will.)

I don't think you want that to happen, do you? After all, we have got offers
pouring in, people at SASTRA are ready to give us a meeting place, LCD
projector, an IP address. I have also got mails from other people offering to
contribute domain name, projector/meeting place.

The choice is yours.
