Dear Vijay,
Thanks for the reply. Are you following the activities of Tamil-Linux
group? http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tamilinix. What ever you are
starting, Please have in mind that you should follow UTF-8 encoding. All
the western encoding will not work for any OSs, for all world languages
most likely.

But TEX based tools are not gtk enabled, so cant use Tamil unicode
there. We are continuously requsting our friends to come out with tamil
enabled tex package. There are some activities are going on. Since I am
not technically sound enough and I dint follow it up, I cant give you
enough information. Please sign up with Tamil linux group which is our
workshop.

Also It is worth to contact Ramanan (rama@xxxxxxxxx), Co-ordinator for
Gnome Translation Project for Tamil and Venkataramanan venkat@xxxxxxxxxx
who had brought all tamil linux efforts under one roof.

If it is possible for you to enable the tamil support for tex tools, It
will a great thing for our society.

Wishing you all the best.
