FREE BUS TRIP TO THE 2010 VA TECH ENGINEERING OPEN HOUSE

If you are a High School Junior in the Hampton Roads/Tidewater, VA area, the
Virginia Tech Center for the Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED*) would
like to sponsor your attendance at the upcoming 2010 VT Engineering Open House
on April 5, 2010. The open house will give prospective engineering students a
special opportunity to discover the tremendous academic offerings available
from the VA Tech College of Engineering.

The Open House includes a free bus trip to VA Tech from the Hampton Roads area
(Virginia), an overnight stay, and a day exploring VA Tech's undergraduate
programs in engineering and computer science. In addition to touring the
campus, participants will explore the VT College of Engineering, its
laboratories and research facilities, and meet with engineering professors,
faculty, staff, and current engineering students.

Only students who are currently High School Juniors are eligible to
participate. Students who are members of CHROME (Cooperating Hampton Roads
Organizations for Minorities in Engineering), females, and students of color
traditionally underrepresented in engineering and science are especially
encouraged to apply!

Transportation, meals, and overnight lodging are all FREE; however, students
should bring at least $20 for snacks (to/from Blacksburg, VA), souvenirs, or
miscellaneous expenses on the trip. The bus will depart early Sunday morning,
4/4/2010, and return Monday night, 4/5/2010.

This trip has been confirmed. Detailed information regarding trip logistics
will be announced via email to students who are selected to attend.
Registration (sign-up) is competitive, and the only way to register is via the
attached registration form. The registration deadline is March 19, 2010
(postmark) !!!

If you have already signed up, thank you for your interest in the trip.

If you are a teacher, guidance counselor, student, or other interested party,
please pass along this information to high school juniors you know who might
have an interest in pursuing engineering or computer science.
