Leftclick adds a mark, rightclick removes the mark.

If you leftclick on a position which already has a mark, the click is
ignored, so you dont accidently delete formerly set marks when you
misclicked. If you want to replace a mark, rightclick first to remove it,
then add a new one with leftclick.

Not exactly. If you add a stone in edit mode, it creates a new node as
brother of the current node. The rest of the game doesnt disappear, it still
is available in the main branch.

Example:

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

You are in move #3 and add a stone in edit mode:

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5
        |
        3a

This makes sense in my eyes, as when you start adding new stones to a
position, you alter the game, so it should happen in a new node (3a) and keep
the
original node (3) unmodified.

To return to the game, just navigate back to the main branch.

Once you have created this 3a node, gGo will know that this node was created
by using the add-stone (not new move) action, and of course not add more
nodes when you add more stones.

I am not absolutely sure now, but I think CGoban2 behaves the same when you
add stones to an existing game tree.

This is correct, see above.

You can delete a node (including all following nodes within this branch!)
with the "Edit" - "Delete" menuitems (or Ctrl-D shortcut). If the node is
the last node within its branch, only this note is deleted, if more moves
follow, these are also deleted. You basically cut off the branch at this
position, so use it with care.
If you delete the first move, you deleted the whole game. :)

Besides stating that gGo actually does work, the good old
Amiga-emulator is generally a good idea. I simply love to fire up UAE
occasionally, sometimes I browse the web or read my email with it, just for
the fun and the good old feeling. :)
