I am rather dissatisfied with the sidebar in ggo. While it is an exceptional
client, I would prefer it if the informational bits were smaller. For instance,
there seems to be a lot of unnecessary boxes and squares and so forth on the
side bar, particularly around the clock and capture counter.
cgoban2--the KGS client--has a nice solution, using informational displays
placed above the chat area. This allows the board to be bigger in a window of
the same size. I'm not sure of the work involved--I'm neither a java coder nor
much of a GUI programmer in general. Perhaps it could be as an option, such
as the current 'horizontal chat area' option--which is actually vertical, for
some reason ;)
