Last "new preview" announcement spam. :)
Version 0.0.3.2 is up, with some nice markers now. If you want to fiddle
with the images, hit 'r' key to reload the images in glGo, saves
quit/restart. If one of you paints a really cool image, mail me. .)
A "Check for update" menuitem lets you quickly check for new releases, so I
will stop spamming you with announcements here. :) It wont connect
automatically (I hate that), just on demand. It reads the file
http://panda-igs.joyjoy.net/java/gGo/glgo/version.html and compares the
given version numbers. Otherwise no data is transmitted. (Exactly the same
as gGo/Java works)
A couple of GTP issues are fixed (though it still cannot pass and score
yet), and a "Find GNU Go" wizard if gnugo.exe was not found should make
this issue for novice users easier. - common major trouble with gGo, though
I hardly understand why its so difficult to enter the path to gnugo.exe: "I
click the 'Play GNU Go' button but your program does not work, it says it
cannot find GNU Go! Where is it??"
Some configuration is now saved, on Linux into a config file under
~/.glGo/glGo.rc, on Windows currently into the registry. I am unsure if
that is a smart idea, I wrote down some thoughts about this in the
Readme.txt file. Maybe some Windows guru out there can enlighten me what's
the advantage of using the registry as storage instead of a config file
(after all almost all Windows programs do that).
Still no sound on Linux, and the Windows sound is pretty horrible, it
echoes. OpenAL from Creative looks like a usable sound library, I will give
it a try.
Otherwise, full details in the changelog.
Peter
