gGo version 0.4 is released.
This release offers quite some new features:
* The authors of qGo, RubyGo and me started working on a client-side extension
protocol for IGS to improve teaching games with the IGSCP protocol. gGo
0.4 supports setting marks during a review, which should be quite useful.
More information about IGSCP is on the gGo webpage. Please note this is
still in development and not really finished yet.
* When observing a teaching game, branches done by the teacher with the undo
command are now stored in variations if you save the observed game in gGo.
This was a common request from MyMaster and his students.
* There are new installers for Windows and Linux. InstallAnywhere is gone, it
caused too many problems. For Windows there is now only one installer. For
Mac OS/X and OS/2 use the platform independant JAR installer.
If you used ggo-0.3.9.exe or InstallAnywhere before, it is *strongly
recommended* you uninstall gGo completely before you install gGo 0.4. Your
configuration will not be changed. Windows Webstart users are not affected.
I cannot stress this enough, uninstall 0.3.9 before you install 0.4.
Have fun with it. :)
Thanks a lot to all the people who sent me feedback.
Peter
