Cheers,

It works on my pentium2 333 MHz, too. ;*)
I should add a sticker: 'Designed with ancient hardware'.

I admit I don't fully understand your problem. Let's see how it is supposed
to work:
First of all, when working with the SGF editor, gGo differs three modes:
Normal mode, edit mode, score mode. This is maybe not so obvious, due to the
lack of a good manual.
The "Score" button in the sidebar (middle button between Pass and Edit mode)
toggles the score mode on/off. Score mode means, if you click a stone, you
mark it dead (leftclick) or alive in seki (rightclick) or undo that again if
you click a once marked stone again. The score button is a ToggleButton, it
doesnt do any action itself except setting the board into score mode. Once
you finished marking dead/seki stones, you can leave score mode again two
ways: Either click the score button again, this will cancel everything you
did and turn the board back into normal or edit mode (depending which mode
you had when you switched to score mode). This will not keep the territory
marks. Or click the "Done" button (that's the original Pass button which got
a new action) to leave and affirm the scoring process. Then the territory
marks are added to the SGF and kept, and you are prompted by a dialog with
the result and asked if you want to update your game information (this
means, if you save the game, the Result tag will have the just counted
score).
I just gave it a try, it seems to work as described.
The same Score button exists in the edit boards you get when opening that
"scratch board" while observing a game. The board is basically the same as a
normal editor board, plus the Synchronize button.
In the observed games window itself there is no score button at all.
In the window for own games there is no score button. When you end your game
with the 3 passes, the board automatically switches to score mode which
works a little different than the normal editor scoring as scoring is
basically done on IGS, not in the editor. You can only left-click stones to
mark them dead, seki marking does not exist (IGS doesnt know about it), and
cancelling dead stones is done with the Undo button. The local territory
display is on the client side, but the actual scoring happens on the server.
Last, there are "Guess score" menuitems in the Edit menu of the editor and
observed games. This has nothing to do with gGo's own score mode, it just
calls an external GNU Go process to guess the score of the current board
position. If this does not work, it is likely that the GNU Go binary was not
found. This is only a menu item, there is only a "Guess" button in the GNU
Go game window, but none in the SGF or IGS windows.
I am unsure about which of the above Score actions you are talking. Please
specify your problem a little more, I currently don't understand exactly
what you mean.
