When I was planning to rewrite the Ambassador to Windows I got this idea of
multiple user/who list profiles. What I mean, is that there should be
profiles for different kinds of user/who-lists the user should be able to
customize freely. Each of these profiles should include not only the normal
range of ranks displayed and settable flags for open and looking, but also
flags to define if one wants to see friends, killed players etc. displayed
in the selected profile.
This would make it far easier to actually use the player list in practise as
instead of having to for example redefine the range of ranks shown, one
could just change a player list profile with one mouse click to see if there
are any hi-dans or professionals around, or whatever. It is a pain to have
to redefine the rank etc. attributes manually just to see info on players
outside of the normal rank range.
I am asleep at the moment, so the above might not make any sense to anyone
but me, sorry. The next time I'll try drawing a picture.
