Allen,
I've seen what good (or lack thereof) the Bible verse slinging does on
this forum. If you want a Biblical basis for Peter as the rock, read
Denzinger. I'm not going to write a book for you when it's already been
done. Denzinger is a compilation that has already been done. Read it,
rather than just responding that "there is none".

Regards,
Nick.

I have the history and Scripture.....My point was is that there is
none........ The whole basses for such is on the premise on peter being
the rock that the church was built on.

        Scripture. History. Faith.

Take a look at Denzinger, if you are serious. It will show you
the scriptural basis for the teachings of the Catholic Church.

        Regards,
        Nick.

What makes you think.....From scripture that the Roman Catholic
Church and her doctrine is what solely constitutes THE CURCH?

Thank you for your follow up.

Can you tell me where in the Bible it says God gave us a
choice on agreeing "with their doctrine". Seems to be "precise", you
should recognize the official teaching of the Roman Catholic Church is
that there is no salvation outside of it. So, you can choose not to
"agree" with its doctrine, but realize this puts you outside of her and
therefore not on the path of salvation. It's a risk you apparently are
willing to take. Again, if you are therefore not with Christ's Church,
you are against it.

                Regards,
                Nick.

Thanks, I appreciate the link... .. I Take your point
let me make my comment precise. I am not of the Roman Catholic
congregation but I do not see the Roman Catholic Church as the enemy.
.even if I don't agree with their doctrine.

Nick, I am not pro or anti Chatholic. I have
and do know how to answer these rediculous charges. But, I would be very
interested in Fr. Geo. Leo Haydock's book. I I could do a search but if
you know readily please tell me. Thanks.

There is a lot of back and forth debate
on what various provisions in the Bible mean. Admittedly, Paul can be
difficult to understand, as Peter admits.

For those who are actually interested in
what Catholic "thinkers" have thought about virtually every passage in
the Old and New Testaments over the centuries, I'd suggest the Haydock
version of the Douay-Rheims Bible. This contains annotations compiled
by Rev. Fr. Geo. Leo Haydock which occupy about half of the text. It
addresses the various passages you've all been debating.

                                Neville, I'm relatively certain you
won't be asking me how to obtain your own personal copy. You'd rather
just continue spouting off about how Catholics don't think. Please
prove me wrong.

                                Regards,
                                Nick

                                First, Messiah says:

(Mat 23:29-36 KJV) Woe unto you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets,
and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in
the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in
the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves,
that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up
then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers,
how can ye escape the damnation of hell? Wherefore, behold, I send unto
you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill
and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and
persecute them from city to city: That upon you may come all the
righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel
unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the
temple and the altar. Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come
upon this generation.

THEN, what does Saul say? :

(Acts 23:6 KJV) But when Paul perceived
that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out
in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a
Pharisee: ...

(BTW: If anyone cannot understand the
old English of the KJV, then presumably they could perhaps look these
scriptures up for themselves in their favourite version?)

                                Neville.
