Neville,
Sure I'll answer the question.

But, first stop avoiding the real issue. Don't just sling more Bible
verses. Please tell me what actual Catholic resources you've read which
explain what Catholics actually believe and teach. Or can't you focus
on such an honest approach.

Regards,
Nick.

Nick,

Since you brought up the 2+2=6 analogy, I want you to consider the
following section of a speech by Saul ('Paul', if you prefer):

"Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the
forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who
believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by
the law of Moses. Take care that what the prophets have said does not
happen to you:

'Look, you scoffers, wonder and perish, for I am going to do something
in your days that you would never believe, even if someone told you.' "
(Acts 13:38-41, NIV.)

Just think about that for a moment and make sure that you understand
what Saul/Paul is saying and who he is talking to and who he is talking
about.

Okay, now Saul/Paul has quoted from the Hebrew, right? Well, not quite.
Take a look at what is actually written:

"Look at the nations and watch - and be utterly amazed. For I am going
to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you
were told." (Hab. 1:5, NIV.)

Do you see the difference? Do you see the hatred that Saul has for the
Jews/Israelites? Do you see how he has twisted and contorted the words
of YeHVaH, hallowed be His name, to suit his own teachings?

Or are you going to tell me that 2+2=6 ?

Neville.

Neville,
That's it Neville. Don't deal with the actual issue. You don't know
what Catholics actually believe and teach. So, rather than admit it,
you respond by treating this as an issue of opinions.

You avoided my earlier question by just responding "Good grief". If you
get pinned down, just dodge, right?

How about this one. Assume I belonged to a Math organization which
taught 2+2=4. Assume also you are highly critical of me and my
organization for teaching that 2+2=6. I explain to you that you've read
some bad stuff about my organization, since we don't teach 2+2=6, so I
suggest you go to the source and see what we actually teach. An honest
person actually interested in the real truth would do this. A dishonest
person would just keep right on being critical or responding with
answers that avoid the matter. I've reached a decision about you
Neville. You aren't interested in the real truth. This is obvious to
any thinking person.

If you ever change, try reading Denzinger, The Sources of Catholic
Dogma. You can find it easily if you choose. This would at least be a
start in understanding what the Catholic Church actually teaches.

Nick.
