YES It not only counts as an official find at the web site, but I earn enough points after a year of caching to order a toaster. You have to e-log the find as usual; the coins are scanned in and used for the verifying points gathering. I don?t think they have a toaster. I am saving for the Land Rover. I am guessing MOST (all) players will NOT mess with paying for the satisfaction and recognition as being so stupid as to pay $57.00 (270 points at about $2.00/10 points) to get a $15 alarm clock or a cheap drill bit set. I think most will just find & log the caches that are there and be done with it. I don't have to write in the logbook. Like now, only if ya want to, I know cachers that don?t log now. I don't have to write an e-log. Yes, Probably you do. But then again, not really. I know cachers that find stuff without e-logging. Because I and others pay for find-verification, it is less likely that others will cheat with their find counts. My find count will be special because I paid for verification. That?s Right! You will then have the satisfaction and recognition (and a prize) that all us cachers truly want. They have the market research that says its so. If I've found 100 caches registered with www.geocaching.com, do the placers have to register those 100 on www.geogamer.com for me to claim them there? YES of coarse, silly you. Do I have to find them again to get the new ID to have them officially found? Not mine, the cache ID is always going to be the geocaching ID and the direction is always gonna be N. now don?t go tellen everybody. Big hint, if you found Eddies money before. Go log in! Ok. I'm done talking about the new site for a long, long time. (but I will be lurking!) Good, If you know anyone that would like to log their comments in their forum, senf them that a way. I think they need plenty of critical thinkers to ask questions. Most of the threads over there are STILL the ones I started. Cache on, Glenn Glenn wrote: My take is that you don?t *put* the coins in the caches. You put the cache ID and the direction point S,N E W ect in the cache on a sticker or a piece of paper, this info is recorded on a coin that you take out of you pocket and send back to the site as a verification that you actually been to the site. (the special code words) Still, ya cant put the code words on a virtual cache to record for the log. Ya cant even log the cache without knowing the # and direction point. That's a growing chunk of the cache population. And putting their coins in a cache on the top of Mt. Everest isn't going to generate them much money. My fear is that the marketing scheme to circulate their coins is going to produce caches that are easy to find and very close to each other. The romance of exploration and becoming one with nature takes a backseat to free enterprise. JimSGreene@xxxxxxx wrote: K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid)
