I have an older toshiba and like it just fine.  I use Mapopolus mapping and 
it seems to work pretty well also.

I think if i were buying another today i would have to seriously look at 
the new dell's x3 somethings. Lots of memory, wireless, a processor that is 
twice as fast as mine. looks very nice.

Then there are some of the pocket PC's and integrated GPS's with mapping 
software built in. also a nice package.  I think the name is Loox (or 
something like that. BottomFeeder has the name and links for sure but they 
are in the archives someplace also)
